Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know whether I am eligible to register for a Mission Delivery program?

Due to the high demand we receive for these programs, it is important that all attendees meet the below eligibility criteria before registering.

Your organisation – these programs are offered to leaders currently working in a registered not-for-profit organisation. Because of the tailored content, this excludes for-profit consultancies (even if working in the not-for-profit space), government entities, industry-backed peak bodies and political or religious advocacy groups.

If you are not sure whether you or your organisation qualifies, please contact us at leadership-capability@mckinsey.com

Is there a cost to the Mission Delivery programs?

All Mission Delivery programs are offered on a fee-waived basis. With this comes an ask to all registrants to please prioritise attendance once you have signed up, or to let our program administration team know in advance (by changing your registration status through the link provided in your confirmation email, or emailing leadership-capability@mckinsey.com) if an unavoidable conflict has arisen that means you can no longer attend. Places are limited, so the more notice you give if you must cancel, the more likely it is that we will be able to offer your place to another leader.

I am both a not-for-profit CEO/Executive and a Board Director. Can I attend both programs?

Given the overlap in content across programs, and our aim to offer program places to as many different leaders as possible, it is recommended that leaders pick only one Mission Delivery program to join (whichever best suits your current role or development).

Can past McKinsey program participants attend our 2024 programs?

Past participants of our programs are welcome to attend a 2024 program, noting that much of the content covered will be similar to programs in previous years. We ask that anyone attending again remain present and engaged for all sessions. If you got a lot out of a previous program and are attending again, it could be a good idea to ‘bring a buddy’ or invite your colleagues or peers to attend alongside you.

Can I sign up for a single day or must I sign up for both program days?

You are welcome to attend both or either of the program days. We would only encourage that you choose a single program (i.e. Board Directors, CEOs & Executives or Team Leaders) to join where possible. You could also sign up if you were unable to attend a particular day in a previous year e.g., Leading Self and Teams.

Is there a limit to the number of leaders a single organisation can send to any one program?

For our Board Directors program, we encourage Boards to join all together if of value.

For our CEOs & Executives and Team Leaders programs, some organisations have sent 20-30 leaders which has been a real benefit to a leadership layer of their organisation.

If you're a leader, feel free to send this on to a group of your colleagues.

Will I receive take-home materials from the program days (e.g. presentation slides, templates, further reading)?

Yes, we will share take-home materials with those who participate in each program.

Will a list of other program participants be shared or a LinkedIn group be set up, so that I can stay in touch?

Unfortunately for privacy reasons, we cannot share a list of participants or create a LinkedIn group post-program. That said, we encourage participants to share their own contact details with other participants they have interacted with throughout the day directly through the zoom chat.

Are the Mission Delivery programs different from McKinsey’s Executive Leaders Program (ELP), and Rising Leaders Forum (RLF) (formally known as Young Leaders Forum, YLF)?

Yes, they are, although some similar concepts are covered.

The Mission Delivery programs outlined on this website are fee-waived, tailored specifically to the not-for-profit context and open to all not-for-profit leaders to register. They offer a series of programs delivered through a live, virtual setting, with opportunities to engage and connect with peers in between.

ELP and RLF (formally known as  YLF) are intensive residential programs run across two weeks, with a mix of participants from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Limited scholarship places are available for not-for-profit leaders to attend these programs – applications to attend can be submitted through the Australian Scholarships Foundation: click here for ELP, and here for RLF (formally known as  YLF) (submission dates will be updated throughout the year).

I have another question that hasn’t been answered on this page. Where do I go?

Please reach out to leadership-capability@mckinsey.com – noting that it may take a couple of days for us to respond.
